I finally got my first macro lens!!! Yay! It’s an “old school” (manual focus) Sigma 50mm f/2.8 macro lens that I found on ebay. It’s in great condition and I’m totally in love with it.
Ever since reading Mark Johnson’s book Botanical Dreaming I wanted to take dreamy looking flower photos. Since I didn’t have a dedicated macro lens I had to experiment and come up with my own style with the lens(es) I did have. And that was how Hummingbird Dreams Photography came into being; since then I have merged the two different photography names and am just using DS Photography and Digital Art. A new logo/watermark will soon be in the making combining the two logos.
This new wallpaper is of a Fortnight Lily. It was taken with the Sigma macro lens mounted with an adapter to my Olympus OM-D EM-5 and is a double exposure to give it more of a dreamy look; it was processed on my iPad mini using Snapseed. I used Corel PaintShop Pro to resize the photos to HD size (1080×1920 for the 16:9 version and 1440×1920 for the 4:3 version).
The price is $3 and includes both sizes that you can use as wallpaper on any of your electronic devices that lets you change the wallpaper.
